Yes, fresh fruits can wreak havoc with your blood sugar, especially fruits that are oh so sweet. Dried fruits and fruit juices are even worse. Stick to eating apples, pears, cherries and berries—one to two medium-sized fruits (or half-cup servings) per day. And try them with a handful of almonds or walnuts. Protein, fiber and healthy fats help slow down digestion and hence keep your blood sugar levels more even.
